Girish Nair has over 20 years of professional experience in the sectors spanning Media, Information Technology and Aviation with a focus on business development, brand management, and strategy. He is a business leader with relentless drive for innovation, carried out through a highly collaborative mindset. His strengths emerge from his ability to focus on long-term strategic ideas and industry predictions. The last fifteen years of this overall experience was spent in the Aviation Industry specializing in airline and airport business; driving dynamic growth, aligning business turnarounds, launching new global ventures and building focused sales & marketing organization.

His last professional assignment before launching the startup “TravelSpends” was with Go Airlines as their Chief Commercial Officer. He also held the position of Head of Airline Marketing and Aviation Contracts, with Bangalore International Airport Limited. His core responsibility was aviation business development and formulating aero marketing strategy for the airport.

In his career Girish has worked very closely with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the state departments in various core groups led by the Govt. for the growth of aviation industry in India. He was a core member of the group which worked on the “Hub Development Policy” for Indian airports and also contributed from the policy development perspective in the areas of air cargo / MRO and Ground Handling business.

Savings as a legacy can only materialize when informed and goal oriented steps are taken to achieve that target.

Suraj Nair is an accomplished professional in Travel and Entertainment (T&E) domain with over 20 years of proven track record. His experience spans across service delivery, change management, people leadership, business development, travel technology and planning and strategy formulation. He has demonstrated his ability to create and mobilize cross functional teams to drive collaborative business-academic studies that drive revenues and enhance services.

Suraj was the Co-Head of the Corporate Travel business at Thomas Cook and his responsibilities included airline and GDS contracting for Thomas Cook. He has also held positions at American Express where he helped leverage T&E spends for their key multi-national customer base and also sold the first meeting card in India to a global corporation. He has experience in Account Management and leading large operational teams to drive excellence.

Suraj is credited with the launch of the first India centric whitepaper on Corporate Travel - Trends, Opportunity and Outlook’ 2011 and followed this with Convergence of Travel and Technology in 2012. Travel MindSpeak, a platform conceived and conceptualized in 2013 to create a knowledge sharing platform for sharing best practices amongst corporate buyers and travel management professionals fostered discussion and collaboration.

Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan

Rishikesha T. Krishnan

Rishikesha T. Krishnan is Director and Professor of Strategic Management at the Indian Institute of Management Indore, India. From 1996 to 2013, Professor Krishnan was a member of the faculty of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), India.

Professor Krishnan was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for the Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania (Fall 2008), and at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad (2011-12). He held the Jamuna Raghavan Chair in Entrepreneurship at IIMB from 2007-10.

Professor Krishnan’s main areas of interest are strategy and innovation.He was listed among the Thinkers50 India most influential thinkers in management from India (2013) and jointly received the special Thinkers50 India Innovation award (2013). Earlier, he received the Dewang Mehta Award for Best Teacher in Strategic Management in 2010.

Professor Krishnan’s recent book, 8 Steps to Innovation: Going from Jugaad to Excellence (co-authored with Vinay Dabholkar, and published by Harper Collins in March 2013), outlines a systematic path for organizations to build innovation capabilities. This book was chosen as the Best Book of 2013-14 by the Indian Society for Training & Development.

The aviation sector is one of Professor Krishnan's interest areas and he has participated in research studies as well as written on the Indian airline industry.

The solutions and services offered by TravelSpends strives to reduce the gap between aspiration and reality for organizations, especially ones afflicted by cost and inefficiency woes. What is particularly encouraging about the founding team is the decades of expertise they bring, having successfully addressed complex challenges in their previous endeavors. As an advisory board member, I bring in insights and perspective to TravelSpends based on my keen interest in the aviation sector and corporate strategy.
